As part of our new Re-record feature focusing on Black artists in electronic music from 2001 through 2020, we're doing a week-long Mix Of The Day takeover.
In this mix, London producer and DJ Chamber 45 puts together a set of grime, drill and rap music for Nine Nights, a new series from The Spectacular Empire. In their own words, it's "a new music TV concept featuring cherry-picked Black artists across the world spanning music, performance, poetry, and spoken word."
"Nine Nights is a rooted Jamaican tradition that celebrates the life and safe passing for those deceased that spans over nine nights," they add. "This 'dead yard' series is for those who have lost their lives at the hands of racism, police brutality and Covid, to celebrate their existence and push for change."
