  • The 72-hour premiere of Brian and Roger Eno's new audio-visual installation is currently underway. The immersive audiovisual installation takes place at the Jerry Moss Plaza at The Music Center in downtown LA, and includes LED screens featuring 100 short films from A Quiet Scene, the recent collaboration between the Enos and filmmakers around the world. The films were sourced from a public competition put on by Deutsche Grammophon, the legendary label that put out the first collaborative album from the Eno brothers, 2020's Mixing Colours. The films, which act as visual scores to various Mixing Colours tracks, will screen for 72 hours straight starting Friday at noon in the plaza, and will run on more limited hours through February 19th. Footage from the opening event is now streaming around the clock. The premiere comes on the heels of the release of Brian and Roger Eno's follow-up EP, Luminous, as well as Mixing Colours Expanded. A collection of Brian Eno's Film Music was also recently released, as was his soundtrack for a 2018 documentary on Dieter Rams. Dublab and Music Center, who are presenting the installation alongside Grammophon, have also announced an LA-based call for films inspired by the Enos music. Members of the public are invited to submit an original short film set to one of the tracks off Brian and Roger Eno's Luminous EP. Filmmakers can submit their work until February 21st, at which point entries will be "evaluated based on interpretation of 'a quiet scene,' interpretation of Los Angeles, reflection of current times and the creativity and originality of the work." Official selections will be screened in Jerry Moss Plaza from March 20th through April 18th. For more information, check out The Music Center's site.
