Autechre have remixed "BIPP" by SOPHIE.
The story behind the remix, which is out via Numbers on January 28th, reportedly began in 2015, when SOPHIE said Autechre were the only act she'd accept to remix her work. The UK duo were asked to rework "BIPP," but they were too busy. SOPHIE's team tried again in 2018 to no avail.
Fast-forward to 2020 and the remix arrived, out of the blue, via email. "Sorry this is so late, hope it's still of some use," read Autechre's accompanying message.
The remix is backed by "UNISIL," an unreleased SOPHIE cut reportedly produced around the time of her 2015 compilation, Product.
