  • Giant have carried out a fine tradition of NYE celebrations since 2000, and this year brings an even bigger and more diverse event. For the first time ever, Giant will feature a broad spectrum of music for all flavors with Giant Village 2006 featuring six stages, indoor lounges and an impressive area spanning six city blocks. This New Years Eve extravaganza is brought together by Wired LA and Giant, featuring a selection of some of finest artists of today’s genre. Among others, The Black Eyed Peas, Z-Trip and Junkie XL are sure to bring you spectacular LIVE performances. John Digweed will once again take command of the Flower Stage in a five hour set with Jimmy Van M. This year, the Hope stage brings you Death Cab for Cutie, Flaming lips, and others, but the fun doesn’t stop there. The Crystal Method, Adam Freeland and Robtronik will entertain everybody doing ‘hard time’ at the Community Service Lounge. Bringing you the deep house are Miguel Migs and Marques Wyatt at the Deep Stage, while John Do and Justin Gourley will warm you up at the indoor Basic Lounge with luscious grooves all night long. If you haven’t found what your ears desire at any of the above stages, perhaps the titillation at the Mutaytor Stage might interest. All night, there will be spellbinding performances by the 30-piece ensemble of musicians, acrobats and fire eaters, emergent from the burning man scene, this group (The Mutaytor) are sure to freakishly entertain you. As always, there is the ‘Giant’ ferris wheel and a spectacular fireworks show at midnight. For more details, full lineup and tickets go to Giant Village.com
