- It's the first single she's put out since dropping her mask and the letter U from her alias.
LCY's "Garden Of E10" single is out on her SZNS7N label. The Bristolian dropped her trademark mask, as well as the U from her performance alias, ahead of the track’s music video, which she co-directed with Lawrence Blackwell.
LCY, real name Lucy Helyer, plays a character undergoing a time-lapsed metamorphosis in the video, inspired in part by events over the last year.
"During an inevitably anxious year in the material world, I've spent the last 12 months focusing my time on escapism and the conceptual realm of my first fully realised universe,” she explains. "This is the first single/video based around this narrative—with the visuals focusing on my personal relationship with world building."
Helyer launched her SZNS7N imprint in 2019 and released LCY, a four-track EP with the tagline, "The end of L U C Y and the beginning of LCY," in February this year. The label has since worked with a number of London-based DJs, including NARA, Yazzus, and Tailor Jae.
