  • A new film highlighting the young Black artists shaping London's electronic music scene is out now. A New Rave spans eight minutes, and was part of the Design Museum's current exhibition, Electronic: From Kraftwerk to The Chemical Brothers.. While the film is still available online, the exhibition has since closed due to the pandemic. The film features interviews with Shy One, Tash LC, Errol Anderson and Tommy Gold, and details their musical beginnings, what art means to them and the significance of community. There is also a focus on the white-washing of the vital role Black artists have played throughout electronic music's development. "Going back to my early raving days, obviously, I was raving to drum & bass and raving to jungle and then raving to house, but at the time I never really thought of them as Black music genres because you're kind of presented with a lot of electronic music from the white perspective," says Tash LC.
