  • A multiplayer online game that premiered at Unsound this year is now available to all. Called Afterlife, the game is an immersive experience featuring flowing visuals and 360-degree landscapes. Users move through different realms of what's described as "the networked afterlife" whilst listening to experimental artists around the Asia-Pacific region. These include Meuko! Meuko!, Gabber Modus Operandi, Hyph11e, 33EMYBW, Mars89 and Sonia Calico, among others. According to the official description, Afterlife "opens an interspace between post-human myths and animist cosmology, to reinvestigate the life, death and rebirth of our digital bodies." It was created by new-media collective NAXS Corp and Meuko! Meuko!, both of whom are Taipei-based. NAXS Corp announced the news of Afterlife's relaunch on social media this week. The game remains largely unchanged from October's Unsound edition though upgrades have been made across the board for an enhanced experience, NAXS told RA. Read about the game at the Unsound website.
