  • Madlib is releasing a new solo album arranged by Four Tet next month. Update, December 14th: First single "Road Of The Lonely Ones" is now available for streaming.
In a note posted across social media platforms, Four Tet confirmed the release of the previously teased album. Sound Ancestors is a new instrumental Madlib solo album, arranged by Four Tett. "We decided to work on this together with him sending me tracks, loops, ideas and experiments that I would arrange, edit, manipulate and combine," says Four Tet. The two artists sent material back and forth over "a couple of years" in order to make the record. Sound Ancestors will come out via Egon’s Madlib Invazion in January. The first single, "Road Of The Lonely Ones," will be premiered on Mary Anne Hobbs' show on BBC 6 Music tomorrow (Monday, December 14th).
