Flowdan is putting out an EP via Canadian label Bare Selection next week.
The EP has its roots in the pre-pandemic times, when the long-time grime MC visited Toronto and met local producers Tre Mission and Freeza Chin, who completed most of the EP in person before finishing it off remotely. Tre Mission and Freeza Chin each produce two tracks.
Bare Selection is a label based out of Toronto run by Freeza Chn and Jayemkayem, focused mostly on UK sounds. So far they've released records from MoreNight, Manga St. Hilaire, Litewrks and more.
Flowdan, meanwhile, is a veteran grime MC who was a member of Roll Deep and has worked with producers like Kode9 and The Bug in the past (among many others). Most of his solo material has come out on Tru Thoughts and Hyperdub, as well as his own label, SpentShell. Read our Rewind review of The Bug's Flowdan-featuring classic track "Skeng" here.
