- The France-based artist lands on the UK label with The Legend Of Jack Johnson EP in January.
Jaymie Silk is moving over to Shall Not Fade for his next release in January.
The Legend Of Jack Johnson is inspired by the influential boxer, who was the first African-American to compete against white men—and win the heavyweight title—in the US in the early 20th century.
The EP is meant to tell the story of the boxer through recordings from the period—including interviews with Muhammad Ali and radio broadcasts—and features Silk singing on the closing track "Unforgivable Blackness."
Byron The Aquarius, who is releasing his own EP on Shall Not Fade this week, contributes a remix.
Earlier this year, Silk released the Club Mermaid album, as well as the three-part Diasporave series.
