- The Iranian-American artist is handling the first release, which lands next month.
Iranian-American artist Sepehr's new label, Shaytoon Records, is a love letter to dual identities.
Farsi for "little devil," the outlet launches on December 11th with Sepehr's Crown Jewel EP, a five-track mediation on themes like love and revolution, and pride and oppression.
"The label & collective seeks to shed light on the under-represented sect of the Iranian dance music underground," Sepehr posted on Facebook, "as well as an extended family of other Middle Eastern artists and freaks. All forms of wild and free, physical and psychedelic, music and art from artists with double identities."
Earlier this year, Sepehr released his debut album, also called Shaytoon, on Dark Entries. He also has a track coming on Steffi's Klakson label, which celebrates 20 years in December.
