  • It slipped through the net as it was released last month, but certainly worthy of a mention is emerging producer / remixer / DJ Morgan Page’s just self-released album ‘Cease And Desist’. Breaking with tradition it features 100% unauthorized house music versions of popular tracks from artists including David Bowie, Esthero, Sam Phillips, The Kills, and Wax Poetic feat. Norah Jones. In 1999, Morgan Page was working in college radio and remixed "Angels" by Wax Poetic feat. Norah Jones, using the acapella from the 12" single. The band (including Norah herself) loved the mix and it was passed around Atlantic Records' offices. Inspried by this he began creating more of these unauthorized mixes adding his own style by layering live bass and guitar to add a warmer sound to the mixes. Soon, he began to receive a tremendous reaction to the mixes from radio DJs, club DJs, and music supervisors so much so that his tracks have featured in national US advertising campaigns for the likes of Adidas, Subterranean, Arden B, Nike, Chanel, and Nine West. Since then he has released his acclaimed album debut 'Drifting Into View' and many of you may have heard his breaks track ‘Landline’ which was recently signed to James Zabiela and Paul Sidoli's Hearing Aid Records. This mix includes Page’s interpretation of a number of well known classics and shapes up as below: Cease And Desist Tracklisting – Morgan Page Esthero – “We Are In Need Of A Music Revolution” (Intro Edit) Coldplay – “White Shadows” (Morgan Page Bootleg Remix) Tegan & Sara – Walking With A Ghost” (Morgan Page Bootleg Remix) Imogen Heap – “Hide & Seak” (Morgan Page Bootleg Remix) Sam Phillips – “If I Could Write” (Morgan Page Bootleg Remix) The Kills – “The Good Ones” (Morgan Page Bootleg Remix) Hyperboreal – Tijuana For Dummies” (Morgan Page Bootleg Remix) David Bowie – “New Killer Star” (Morgan Page Bootleg Remix) Antone Dvorak – “Symphony #9” (Morgan Page Remix) Wax Poetic Feat. Norah Jones – “Angels” (Morgan Page Remix) Now, at age 24 with several remixes under his belt and dozens of EPs out on labels like Bedrock, SAW, and Nordic Trax Morgan is one to watch.
