  • LA label NextAge will release a new LP from Dam Voyage later this month. The low-key LA-based artist recently made waves when Actress shared the Mad Voyage mixtape many (including RA) mistook the mysterious release as Actress's own—NextAge promptly corrected the record with #MadVoyageMixup. Dam Voyage's next album on Jadapod's label is called As Blue As Time and features vocals from Shanna Gilfix and trumpetists Danny Levin and Sarah Belle Reid, who also contributes electronic instrumentation. The LP contains 17 new tracks and is out on October 30th. There's not much else known about the release, except for this accompanying text.
Think about time. Time as a concept. As a construct. What is its function? Its fabric? Time as a law. As the box we are in. My time here in this life, on this earth. We have a limited experience. Does it exist in other modes? It loops, it pauses, reverses, and expands. Will time give us another chance? Will it all of a sudden crash? Like a wave. Will we notice?
This will be Dam Voyage's third album following 2019's DUB, 2015's Celestial Music and 2013's Lost Cub, in addition to the 2015 EP NXTG 002. Watch the video for "Disappear Blue," featuring Danny Levin, and check out the release on Bandcamp.
