  • Mixcloud is getting into the ticketed streaming game with forthcoming livestream shows from the likes of Lafawndah, Flying Lotus and Leon Vynehall. The service is particularly well-suited for live and DJ sets due to its system of comprehensive licenses with labels and publishers, which will allow artists to perform without interruption due to copyright takedowns and also ensure that rights holders are paid if their music is played in the midst of a set. Lafawndah, who recently released the You, At The End LP, will kick off the series of concerts on October 25th, with FlyLo set to play on Halloween, Roisin Murphy performing on November 14th and Vynehall debuting his A Little More Liquid audiovisuals how on November 21st. Nas, who recently invested in Mixcloud, also has a live event in the works. "Launching Tickets is our next step in helping artists and creators generate new income and building out a full-stack music platform, with creators at the core," said Mixcloud CEO Nico Perez. Mixcloud is currently trialing this service on an artist-by-artist basis, and it plans to open up ticketed streaming to all Mixcloud Pro and Select users with the ability to set events up by themselves in the future. Artists, DJs and promoters interested in getting early access to Tickets can apply via this form. For more information on the upcoming shows, check out the event listings below.
