  • MUTEK Montreal 2020 will take place as a hybrid physical and virtual event, starting next Tuesday, September 8th. Due to Canada's blanket travel ban, the in-person portion of the festival will focus entirely on local artists, who will be premiering work made during (and about) the Covid-19 pandemic. Events will unfold at the Place des Arts' Cinquième Salle and the dome of the SAT, with social-distancing guidelines in place. Artists like Priori, Pelada, OuriGuillaume Coutu-Dumont, Poirier are featured in the local program. The international artists will perform on MUTEK's new virtual platform (where the local performances are also viewable). The virtual shows will be broadcast three times each day tailored to time zones in Europe, North America and Asia, spread across three stages. Artists booked include Grand River, Molly, Artexte, Bionautas (Jonas Kopp & Flor de Valle) and more. See the event listing for the full lineup.
