The Blessed Madonna has put together a Dua Lipa remix album called Club Future Nostalgia, due out on August 28th.
The LP is based around this year's Future Nostalgia album, the UK singer's second. In a statement, Lipa calls the record a "mixtape" curated by The Blessed Madonna, who brought in names like Moodymann, Yaeji, Larry Heard, Mark Ronson, Masters At Work, Jayda G, Joe Goddard, Midland, Horse Meat Disco and more.
Musical guests include Madonna, Missy Elliott and Gwen Stefani. There's also two new tracks, including "Kiss And Make Up," featuring Korean group BLACKPINK, and "That Kind Of Woman" with Jacques Lu Cont (who produced much of the original Future Nostalgia).
The songs on Club Future Nostalgia are weaved together with samples from classic dance and pop tracks, including Cajmere's "Coffee Pot (Percolator Mix)," Neneh Cherry's "Buffalo Stance," Art Of Noise's "Moments In Love" and Stevie Nicks' "Stand Back."
"When Dua asked me to recreate Future Nostalgia as a DJ style dance mixtape, I was excited because I knew I was being asked to introduce not only myself, but my heroes and sheroes from both pop and club music in a whole new way," The Blessed Madonna says. "The first time I met Dua was at a rave inside Glastonbury and in a way, I am sharing a bit of that special night with all of you too."
Last month, The Blessed Madonna announced she would change to her current name after criticism around her previous alias, The Black Madonna.
