  • The next release from Moodymann and Kenny Dope sees the pair return to an early house classic, SunPalace's "Rude Movements." Before he passed away in 2018, SunPalace producer Mike Collins himself commissioned the two artists to edit the track. Out on October 16th via BBE's vinyl-only offshoot, ALIM, the record will be available on strictly limited 7-inch vinyl. "Rude Movements" was recorded in Collins' London home studio in 1981 as the B-side to the single "Winning." But the song officially became an early house music classic, played regularly by David Mancuso at his famous New York Loft parties. The track has deeply influenced Moodymann and Kenny Dope throughout their careers, most notably in 1994 when the latter sampled the track on The Bucketheads' "Whew!" The release comes hot on the heels of Moodymann's most recent album,Taken Away, which came out in May. Listen to the teasers below.
