  • Nazar has released the new music video for "Bunker," the third track off his debut album, Guerrilla. Directed by Rob Heppell, the film was shot in October 2019 and animated over the next eight months while in lockdown between China and the UK. The short sees Nazar and Shannen SP front and center, backdropped by animations of a collapsing hotel. In 1992, Angola's ruling party, the MPLA, agreed to hold an election following nearly two decades of civil war. When the results came back in favor of the MPLA, accusations of electoral fraud led to a violent backlash from the government. Army squads were sent to kill international journalists staying in two luxury hotels, the Tropico and the Turismo. The track is written from the perspective of someone barricading themselves within one of these hotels. Angolan-Belgian artist Nazar released the RA-recommended Guerrilla via Hyperdub back in March. The "rough kuduro" record centered his family's collective memory of the Angolan war. Watch the film.
