  • Lakuti and Tama Sumo will release Uzuri Recordings Retrospective Charity Compilation on July 2nd. Lakuti (Lerato Khati), the Berlin-based South African DJ, launched Uzuri in 2007. The label has since gone on to become a favourite amongst true-school deep house heads. The 11-track compilation, which Khati compiled with her partner Tama Sumo, includes key material and slept-on gems from the Uzuri catalogue, including music from the likes of Stump Valley, Move D, Whodat, Glenn Underground (remixing ReeKee), Joe Claussell (remixing Panama Keys) and Lerosa, to name a few. The 10-track set is a fundraiser for Triangle Project, a Cape Town nonprofit with the mission of eradicating discrimination against and within the LGBTQ community. Triangle Project particularly helps "people of colour at the margins of society," the label says. Listen to the lead-off track from Uzuri Recordings Retrospective Charity Compilation, Stump Valley's "Down The Dirt Road."
