  • SPARKLE DIVISION will release their debut album, To Feel Embraced, on Temporary Residence Limited on September 18th. SPARKLE DIVISION is a collaboration between the well-loved experimental artist William Basinski and his studio assistant, Preston Wendel. The duo produced the album at Basinski's Musex International studio in Los Angeles. The 13-track record features the legendary free jazz bassist Henry Grimes (who passed away in April), the London vocalist Xeli Grana and Mrs. Leonora Russell who Basinski refers to as "the Queen of Williamsburg." While the record was completed in 2016, SPARKLE DIVISION held off on the release of the record amidst increasing political and environmental unrest, its mix of electronics, jazz and disco potentially too fun and euphoric for the times. Explaining the decision to announce the release now, Basinski says, "Well, damn it, if the time ain't right now, it never will be! Let's do this!" Listen to the RA Exchange podcast with William Basinski.
