  • Detroit trio Jeff Mills, Eddie Fowlkes and poet Jessica Care Moore have collaborated on an album together for the first time as The Beneficiaries. Out July 24th via Mills's Axis Records label, The Crystal City Is Alive is a six-track LP about Detroit and its rich cultural history. Mills and Fowlkes wrote the music and Moore wrote the words. The album was recorded between Detroit and Miami. Born in 1971, Moore is an acclaimed poet, playwright, performance artist and producer. Her work has been featured in music by hip-hop luminaries such as Nas, Talib Kweli and Jeezy (FKA Young Jeezy). Listen to clips of The Crystal City Is Alive over at Decks.de.
