- The Berlin-based artist has produced the first EP, which will hit the shelves in May.
Alinka has a started a label called Fantasy Life.
The Berlin-based Ukrainian, who runs Twirl Recordings alongside Shaun J. Wright, took inspiration for the new outlet from a famous quote by Andy Warhol: "Fantasy love is much better than reality love." The first release, a five-track house EP titled Do What U Want, is her first solo record. It's out May 8th.
''A dance floor can essentially be an escape from reality," Alinka says. "Music can take us to another place and serve as a safe space and an escape from our everyday lives and problems. On a perfect day, you see people of all walks of life dancing in unity and it feels like a fantasy."
