  • Beat Hotel's second edition in Morocco has been indefinitely postponed. In the wake of the coronavirus scare, the Moroccan government has banned all gatherings of 1,000 people or more, meaning that Beat Hotel—set to run from March 19th through 22nd—can no longer go on as planned. "We have been closely monitoring the developments over the past few weeks and, despite our best intentions to make the event happen safely, the Moroccan government has ruled it cannot go ahead, as part of a nationwide ban on mass gatherings, until at least the end of March," the organizers said in a statement. "Whilst we appreciate everyone will have their own opinions about Coronavirus, and may well be happy to take responsibility for their own travel choices, this is a national ban which we need to adhere to." Ticketholders will be able to attend the festival once it has been rescheduled, if they wish. Beat Hotel's announcement is the latest in a slew of cancellations, including Tomorrowland Winter in France and Ultra Music Festival in Miami, due to fears around the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Italy, meanwhile, has cancelled all concerts and closed venues across the entire country. Clubs and festivals across Asia have also been forced to cancel or postpone events.
