- Shaytoon is inspired by the Iranian music of the artist's youth.
Sepehr's debut album is coming via Dark Entries on April 10th.
Shaytoon, which ranges from acid to electro, house and techno, was largely inspired by the '70s-era Iranian records that Sepehr Alimagham heard during his childhood. The artwork, by Sahra Jajarmikhayat, also pays homage to the calligraphy and portraits of old Iranian albums. The label says that some of the tracks take a slower and sludgier approach than Alimagham's past work.
Sepehr's first release for Dark Entries, the Body Mechanics EP, came out in 2018, and he's also released for labels like Legwork and EON. Dark Entries also has EPs from Fear-E and Shcuro on the way, and just put out a well-reviewed album from Borusiade.
