  • Jessy Lanza is back with a new single on Hyperdub. "Lick In Heaven" is a song about "being angry with people and not knowing what to do about it," according to Lanza herself. "I find that when I'm a certain combo of sad and angry I reach a point of provocation where I can't stop myself from going nuclear." It comes with a video directed by Winston H Case that takes place in a fictional talk show called Good Morning Ontario. The new single is the Canadian artist's first solo release since her 2016 album, Oh No. Like that album, "Lick In Heaven" was cowritten by Junior Boys member Jeremy Greenspan. More recently, Lanza put out her second single with Morgan Geist as The Galleria last November. Lanza's debut album, Pull My Hair Back, was one of our definitive albums of the last decade. Watch the video for "Lick In Heaven."
