- Out March 6th on Cohen's Versatile Records, the LP was recorded at Kalma's house in Mullumbimby, Australia, and mixed by I:Cube.
French musicians Gilbert Cohen and Ariel Kalma will release a new album on Cohen's Versatile Records next month.
Head Voices was recorded at Kalma's house in Mullumbimby, Australia, over the course of a week in winter 2019, though most of the tracks on the album were mixed by I:Cube at Victor Studio in Paris.
"In 2018, I landed in Amsterdam to start a [European] tour," Kalma said. "The venue could not find a hotel for me, so I asked Gilbert, who invited me to stay in his guest room. [We] exchanged many ideas, and I invited him to record at my place in Australia. He did, and here is the result! I am thrilled that the words issued from my Head Noise are highlighted by the arrangements cocreated with Gilbert."
Cohen (AKA Gilb'R) is also part of Château Flight (with I:Cube), The Big Crunch Theory and Aladdin. Last year, he released an EP, Lord Of The Basics, on Versatile. Most recently, Kalma recorded an album with Sarah Davachi, Intemporel, which was released in 2019 on Black Sweat Records.
