- N8W8 R'dam was born out of the "Opstand voor de Nacht" (Stand Up For The Night) protest of March 2019.
Rotterdam is getting an independent night council.
The decision is an outcome of "Opstand voor de Nacht" (Stand Up For The Night), a demonstration held in response to the city's unexpected end to a new club development in March 2019. The new council, called N8W8 R'dam, will advise entrepreneurs and municipality on issues related to nightlife.
To celebrate, N8W8 is organizing a free kick-off event at Mono on January 24th. They will present their vision, host Q&As and speakers and screen a mini-documentary. Afterwards, the non-profit foundation (A)WAKE will host a free club night, with Mo Jakob, Lin Tonic, YESSICA and Sippin' T.
