- The French duo's remix of "I'm Not Defeated" by Fiorious will come out next month as a limited-edition vinyl.
Ed Banger and Defected's Glitterbox Recordings are co-releasing the final production by Cassius, AKA Hubert Boombass and the late Phillippe Zdar.
The track is a remix of "I'm Not Defeated" by New York vocalist Fiorious. Out February 21st, it'll be available as a single-sided, limited-edition vinyl, with 2000 copies being pressed. The B-side features a custom-made etching. All profits will go to Rainbow Railroad, a Canadian charity helping the LGBTQ+ community escape persecution and violence.
"Zdar played me the remix while we were heading to the last gig we would ever play together," Pedro Winter, founder of Ed Banger Records, says. "He knew him and Boombass had delivered a banging remix."
Fiorious adds: "No one ever imagined it would be the last Cassius production, but this remix was obviously a labour of love for them, and you can feel that so strongly. It's an inspiring eight-minute tour de force and the most bittersweet gift to all of us."
In June last year, Philippe "Zdar" Cerboneschi died after falling out of a window in Paris. The French Touch pioneer was 52.
