  • The xx have collaborated with fashion designer Raf Simons on a merch collection to mark the tenth anniversary of their self-titled debut album. Featuring original album art, T-shirts, patches, pins and a cap, the collection was inspired by the London band's critically acclaimed LP, which came out in August 2009. It's one of Simons' all-time favourite records. "The album xx represents a very distinct sensibility linked to youth culture at the time," Simons told System Magazine. "It succeeds in articulating and putting into words what is going on in the minds of kids when they're dealing with love, heartbreak, friendships. And not in the stereotypical way, it seemed much more real in a way. More authentic." The xx's relationship with Simons goes back several years. In 2014, he invited them to perform at the Guggenheim Museum in New York, and he also worked on the video for the band's 2017 track "I Dare You." In addition to the main collection, fans can also buy a set of five patches and two pins in a collectible box. They come in two sizes: CD or 12-inch. Check out a teaser clip of the collection, which lands December 12th.
