- The 12-track album is inspired by the atmosphere of the Chinese capital.
Out Of Fashion Boys, from Beijing, is releasing its first compilation in mid-December.
The self-titled compilation features 12 tracks from artists like Air Max '97, False Witness, King Doudou, Lao, GORO, Ase Manual and more. It's inspired by each artist's impression of the city and the country itself—for example, Goro's "Air China" features samples of the airline's safety announcements. The cover art was created by Berlin artist Heimer.
Out Of Fashion Boys cofounder Luxixi describes Beijing as "oppressed, submerged but packed with a tremendous energy... though Beijing is not the most economically developed city in China, all the cultures that it cultivates will never be completely consumed by [a] market economy."
The label is an offshoot of a previous party and label, THUVDR, run by Luxixi and TsingLung. The new outlet is meant to encompass more than just club music, though details on that are still TBA.
