The LP, out February 7th, features samples by Laurel Halo, Batu, Untold, UK bhangra pioneer Kuljit Bhamra and more.
Beatrice Dillon will release her debut solo album on PAN in February.
Recorded between London, Berlin and New York, Workaround combines Dillon's love of UK club music and Afro-Caribbean influences with experimental composition. The LP mixes FM synthesis with acoustic samples from artists including Laurel Halo, Batu, Untold, UK bhangra pioneer Kuljit Bhamra, guitarist Jonny Lam, griot musician Kadialy Kouyaté and cellist Lucy Railton.
Dillon was also inspired by religious scholar James P. Carse's book Finite And Infinite Games, the abstract drawings of Tomma Abts and Jorinde Voigt and painter Bridget Riley's essays on grids and color.
Workaround most recently follows Dillon's 2018 Selects / Dissects mixtape for RVNG Intl.
