- The live music space will officially launch in spring 2020.
East London is getting a new venue.
Space289 is a live music space aiming to highlight the UK's diverse music scene. In doing this, the Cambridge Heath venue hopes to develop an environment where "established promoters take musical risks and new promotors have a space to cultivate ideas and grow."
The space's inclusivity focus also extends to its programming. "We don't see a future in flying artists in for one-off shows." The venue says, "small venues have an important role in developing new ways of operating."
Space289 is slated to officially open its doors in spring 2020, with a party featuring SHYGIRL already scheduled for March. In the meantime, there will be a few events in the lead up to the opening, like a Parasang show later this month.
