Hakan Libdo is making a return to Melbourne's Honkytonks on Friday 25 February. He'll be proudly hosted by the Lasergun crew who are being let loose in Honkys on a Friday night for the first time ever. They've out grown Sunday night events!
Hakan is well known as a producer and live performer and played a jaw-droppingly intricate and inviting set last time he was here. His “anything goes” attitude puts him more than a step ahead of the rest. From electro, techno, house and ambient Hakan has done it all. Hakan was recently awarded as one of the 100 best producers of electronic music in the world by Urb Magazine/USA. His discography holds more than 150 records and stretches from avant-garde click n cuts to well produced vocal pop house. Hakan has made music for commercials, film, TV shows, computer games, 3 ballets and remixed artists like Kool Keith, Ashley Beedle, Si Begg, Sophie Ellis Bexter, Tube Jerk, Ennio Morricone, John Selway and Fatboy Slim. He's even produced the new single "Planet Dada" by Swiss cult-duo Yello is produced by Hakan Lidbo. Busy!
Hakan's visit supports his new EP release, Mechanimal, on Aussie label AKA ltd (Artist Known As). Also playing on the night will be Dave Pham (3hr set), Mike Callander and Boogs. Entry is $15 on the door.
