- Out November 25th, the first release on Beyond Space And Time asks, "what is in a DJ's record bag?"
Japanese music festival Rainbow Disco Club has launched a record label, Beyond Space And Time, AKA BEST.
The new imprint will kick off with a double-vinyl compilation curated by DJ Nobu, which features the likes of Laurent Garnier, Front 242, Pan Sonic, Burial and more. It will explore much of DJ Nobu's musical background as well as all-time favorite tracks.
"Throughout the festival's history, [we] have been fortunate to constantly encounter performers and DJs who we've collaborated with in establishing a beautiful dance floor year in, year out," the label said in a press release. "These relationships have lead RDC to start [our] own label, and now gives [us] the opportunity to reveal one of the best-kept secrets—what is in a DJ's record bag?"
Last month, BEST released Pan Sonic's "Lähetys / Transmission" as a 7-inch sampler ahead of the compilation. It's the first time the track has been released on vinyl.
"['Lähetys / Transmission'] emerges beautifully—breaking structures and transcending the past," said DJ Nobu. "Every layer of the piece is produced with such delicacy and care, that as a whole it magically drags you into the world of the unknown."
