- The latest project from the femme culture founder explores a queer "music utopia."
Elkka's next EP, Every Body Is Welcome is out on her own label femme culture next month.
Spanning five tracks, the project is inspired by her relationship with queer identity and the dance floor. Speaking further on the EP's influences, the London artist says, "Every Body Is Welcome symbolizes what I hope the dance floor to be—a music utopia or haven, somewhere for everyone to feel safe to express themselves, to find themselves, to be whoever they want to be and feel part of a community of acceptance and tolerance."
Elkka founded femme culture in 2016 with the aim to support womxn DJs, promoters and artists in the electronic music scene. She currently co-runs the platform, which doubles as a record label and collective, with fellow DJ Ludo.
