Doc Sleep, DJ Spider appear on new Cultivated Sound three-tape compilation

- Special Interest Group is out next week.
- New York collective Cultivated Sound is putting out a 27-track compilation on October 21st. Special Interest Group invites participating artists to imagine traveling to an alternative reality (you can read more on that here), and the label says the music touches on house, techno, noise, ambient and electroacoustics. The 27 tracks will be released digitally and spread across three tapes for a special limited edition (100 copies) made in collaboration with Pop-Up Art Project. Among the artists featured are Jacktone label head Doc Sleep, DJ Spider & Phil Moffa, Phon.o, Frankie Bones, Ariel Zetina, Black Lauren, Maria Chavez, Heidi Sabertooth, Nicuri and more. Founders Mara and Chamberlain Zhang also contribute. The label will host a release party in New York at Bossa Nova Civic Club next Saturday, October 26th, with Hiroki Yamamura and Frankie Bones.
