  • Caribou has released his first track in five years. "Home" just premiered on Annie Mac's BBC Radio 1 show today, when she gave it her "hottest record in the world" stamp. Dan Snaith centers the song on a sample of the Gloria Barnes song of the same name. "I'm always listening to lots of music and sometimes a loop just jumps out at me—it's too perfect," Snaith says of the using the sample. "I kept returning to it, meaning to do something with it but not knowing what... It wasn't until the circumstances of someone close to me mirrored the refrain of the original song that the track all came together." Snaith's last record as Caribou was the 2014 album, Our Love, for City Slang. This past summer, he released the Sizzling EP under his more club-focused alias, Daphni. Read our review of the single.
