  • MUTEK.JP has revealed the first artists for its next festival. The Japanese arm of the experimental festival will run from December 11th through the 15th at various venues across Tokyo. This year, the festival is moving its conference, workshops, exhibitions, audiovisual installations and performances away from The National Museum Of Emerging Science And Innovation, AKA Miraikan, and will instead set up in the Shibuya ward. Japanese artists Akiko Nakayama, SAKURA TSURUTA, Yosi Horikawa, Daito Manabe + Kamitani Lab, Hiroaki Umeda, Yuzo Koshiro & Motohiro Kawashima, Norimichi Hirakawa and Ryoichi Kurokawa—his first performance in Japan in seven years—will represent the host country. There will also be joint performances from Tim Hecker & The Konoyo Ensemble and Kode9 & Koji Morimoto. As for international acts, Dasha Rush and Lars Hemmerling will bring their LADA project to Japan, with Myriam Bleau, Falaises and Line Katcho also down to perform. More artists are still TBA.
