  • Fred P will release a new album, Evolution Of Light, under his Black Jazz Consortium alias in November. The LP, which will be the third release on Fred Peterkin's new label, Perpetual Sound, is a "direct response" to his first album as Black Jazz Consortium on the now-disbanded Soul People Music label. Evolution of Light is specifically influenced by Brazilian music and culture, and finds the Queens-born, Berlin-based artist working with Brazilian musicians on the tracks "Sacred Sun," "Salvador," 'More Blessings" and "Another Path." "There has been a lot of growth since my first album," Peterkin said. "I wanted to answer with a follow up that is honest, and along the way Brazil became a focus, so here we are." Evolution Of Light follows two Fred P releases from earlier this year, the Neroli single Reaching For The Stars and the Lush Culture EP with Deetron on Perpetual Sound. His last full-length of new music was 2013's Codes And Metaphors, which arrived in three parts on Soul People Music. Listen to "Energies Collide," featuring Ceri B.
