Fast Forward Productions will be releasing a compilation in support of Together We Push, an organization that seeks to help incarcerated rejected refugees and asylum seekers in Denmark.
Nine artists from the Copenhagen agency and platform, including Sugar, Schacke, Rune Bagge and Funeral Future, have contributed tracks to the compilation. 100 percent of the proceeds will be donated to Together We Push, which provides food and other necessities to families incarcerated at the Sjælsmark deportation camp, in addition to "organizing events for the children there."
Fast Forward shared the following statement about their motivation behind the charity compilation and for working with Together We Push.
In recent years, governments all over Europe have lurched to the right, not least here in Denmark. Amongst a long list of new racist and xenophobic legislation—and as the neo-fascist Rasmus Paludan establishes his new party and is given government-funded protection for year-long hate-speech tours in areas with large Muslim populations—the Danish government is running several incarceration camps to hold rejected refugees.
Living conditions in the camps are inhumane, children in them are being denied access to education, and according to humanitarian organizations, many of the people held in them are showing signs of severe and increasing distress and mental illness. Together We Push is comprised of a massive network of volunteers and is able to operate thanks to financial contributions from private citizens, support parties and fundraising initiatives.
The compilation will be available for purchase on the Fast Forward web store from September 2nd.
