  • Monty Luke and Brendon Moeller have a new collaborative project called Zodiac. The duo's LP, Serengeti By Night, will land on Hypercolour on September 13th. It's the first time the two artists have worked together, and the press release calls it "sci-fi dub," describing the music as "tribal trance, voodoo dub and otherworldly electronics... deployed over rock steady rhythms." African Head Charge, Rhythm & Sound, Cybotron and Public Image Ltd. are cited as influences. Both producers have had long careers in electronic music. American Monty Luke was once the manager of Carl Craig's Planet E label, and has been putting out his own music since the mid-'00s. Moeller, meanwhile, is a New York-based South African who has released dubby techno for labels like Echocord, Electric Deluxe, Third Ear and more. Listen to clips of Serengeti By Night.
