  • Red Bull Music Festival will take over venues around Melbourne for six days in October. The event concept—which has seen a range of parties, concerts, talks and workshops take place in cities like LA, Tokyo and Moscow—will touch down in Australia for the first time between October 15th and 20th. A core focus of the Melbourne programme will be 1800-DOOF, a club night which will split across four venues and co-promoters on October 18th. Animals Dancing will host Hashman Deejay along with John T. Gast and Toni Yotzi at 24 Moons; Crown Ruler have Terrence Dixon and Steven Julien (AKA FunkinEven) playing at The Gasometer Hotel; Chez Damier tops the bill for Novel's party at Glamorama; and LeFag have booked Dinamarca and Kötare for 229 Queensberry St. Outside of 1800-DOOF, Sampa The Great will headline a show at The Forum on October 18th. An open-air hip-hop party will be held at Golden Square Car Park on the 19th, a night called Simma will showcase "future Afro Carribbean" at Radar, also on the 19th, and Darwin rapper Baker Boy leads an all-indigenous lineup at 170 Russell on the 20th. Information and timetables for the workshops, talks and performances programme, which runs from October 15th through 19th, are still to come.
