- The LP was inspired by a "dark time in his life."
Juan Ramos is putting out his first album via ESP Institute this week.
Changing Hands was inspired by "a dark period" in the American producer's life, according to the press release, which also calls it an "overtly honest musical diary." Compared to previous dance floor-leaning efforts, this one "dismantl[es] our preconceptions of Juan and plung[es] listeners deep into a stew of jarring textures, incomplete phrases and circus-like abstractions of pop culture," the press release adds.
Ramos, who is based in Berlin, has released two previous records on Lovefingers' ESP Institute, as well as two for Cocktail d'Amore Music.
Listen to "Reflex."
