  • New Forms Festival in Vancouver will return this September. The first-wave lineup announcement includes Aurora Halal, Afrodeutsche, Giant Swan, DJ Marcelle, Kampire, LSDXOXO, Minimal Violence, Debit, Lafawndah and Sherelle. On opening night, the festival will have Japanese noise legend KK Null playing live. Closing night is a block party with queer collectives Public Disco, Honcho and Directory LA. There will also be a week-long residency with New York label PTP, featuring Dis Fig, Dreamcrusher and Via App, among others. The five-day event, taking place from September 25th to 29th at multiple venues around the Railtown neighborhood, is being booked by a new team of curators this year. Among them are VIA Festival cofounder Lauren Goshinski, Ascetic House label head JS Aurelius and TUF cofounder Ceci Corsano-Leopizzi, AKA CCL. The festival's main venues are the Japanese Language School & Hall as well as The Pace, with smaller events happening at The Fox, Red Gate, Deep Blue, Open Studios and James Black Gallery.
