Demdike Stare release limited-edition tape influenced by salvaged Letrasets

- Demdike Stare have released a limited edition tape, Berlin 09-03-2019, on their DDS imprint. The piece was commissioned by Hanno Leichtmann for the Berlin music and design festival Letra-Tone. The Manchester duo were asked to interpret a score created by graphic designer Scott Massey out of salvaged sheets of Letraset typefaces. Berlin 09-03-2019 is one continuous composition split into two sides, described as being influenced by musique concrète and "full of seething drones, industrial clangs and flute choruses." The cassette is housed in an individually stamped custom box with a six-panel insert, and follows last year's LP for Modern Love, Passion, which RA named one of the best albums of 2018.Berlin 09-03-2019 is out now on DDS.
