Alessandro Cortini debuts on Mute with new album, Volume Massimo

- The Nine Inch Nails member's guitar-heavy record is out in September.
- Alessandro Cortini has signed to Mute for his next album. Volume Massimo continues in the melodic direction of Cortini's last album, Avanti, the label says. There's also a heavy emphasis on guitar, with tracks that touch on everything from noise music to "glorious pop epics." Cortini moonlights as a keyboard and guitar player in the Nine Inch Nails live band, and he's worked with Merzbow and Lawrence English in the past.
