The Warehouse Project has found a new home in Manchester's Depot for its 2019 season.
Aphex Twin, Skepta, Disclosure, Nina Kraviz, Chase & Status and Marco Carola are among the names booked across seven dates this fall. The inaugural night will take place on Friday, September 20th, with a lineup put together by Aphex Twin in his first-ever curated show. It'll feature performances from artists such as Rian Treanor, Zuli, Aleksi Perälä, SØS Gunver Ryberg and Renick Bell, in addition to Richard D. James himself. The rest of the season will see the likes of Skream (who will go back-to-back with Krystal Klear), Flume, Nao, Jayda G, Annie Mac, Joy Orbison, Sherelle and more.
Depot, FKA Mayfield Depot, is jointly run by Broadwick Venues (better known as the team behind Printworks), Vibration Group and The Mayfield Partnership. The space was originally a disused railway depot that had been abandoned since 1960 and will open as a multi-room venue in August. Warehouse Project's four-year run at Store Streetended with a final party on New Year's Day earlier this year.
"What's happening with the launch of the Depot venue is a huge moment for the whole of Manchester," says Warehouse Project cofounder Sam Kandel. "There are a huge number of people and various different institutions and networks working in true collaboration to make this a reality. After nearly ten years of pushing and pulling to make this place base camp for Warehouse Project, it's finally happening. We can't wait."
