  • Sónar Reykjavík 2019 has been cancelled. The Icelandic festival was due to begin April 25th until the sudden collapse of budget airline WOW Air threw plans into disarray. In a statement, festival organisers Upplifun said, "The travel plans of up to half of all the Sónar Reykjavík ticket-holders and numerous artists scheduled to perform have been severely affected or cancelled" following WOW Air's demise. The statement goes on to reference the "extremely delicate local situation in Iceland," leading to the team being unable to "guarantee the same calibre of experience we have provided over the last six years, both for artists and fans." According to the festival's website, all tickets will be refunded. It was to have been the seventh edition of the festival, which is one of the biggest of its kind in Iceland, with the likes of upsammy, Yves Tumor, Objekt and Avalon Emerson set to perform this year.
