  • Belgium festival Horst has revealed full details of its 2019 edition. Running from September 13th through 15th, the music and arts event is moving to a new location called ASIAT, a former military site in the northern Brussels suburb of Vilvoorde. Spanning six hectares, the venue includes 20 warehouses, green spaces and two large cooling towers, one of which is still in use. 60 acts will be spread across four stages during the festival, watched by up to 15,000 people. "ASIAT is the ultimate blank canvas for Horst," the festival's Jochem Daelman told Resident Advisor. "It reminds us of a long lost power structure, almost irrelevant in today's society. A space to be activated and infused with artistic, creative and urban initiatives." In addition to various art pieces, from stage design to installations, Horst will host dozens of electronic music artists. Highlights include Eris Drew, Bambounou, Lafwandah, Sherelle, Giant Swan, upsammy, Joy Orbison (who will go back-to-back with Craig Richards), Objekt (who will go back-to-back with Call Super), Mama Snake, Marcel Dettmann, Gesloten Cirkel and Paquita Gordon. Horst is also launching a new series of workshops called The Lab, which will be split into four groups: The Music Lab, The Design Lab, The Art Lab and The Architecture Lab. More info will be revealed in May. "The symbiosis between thought-provoking critical artworks, urban experiments, inventive stage design, scenography, architecture and the collective experience of an immersive music festival will hopefully refresh the overall perception of what a festival can be," added Daelman. "And how a festival can potentially co-develop a new urban district."
