  • Berlin techno venue Arena Club will be closing this spring. After unofficial statements surfaced on social media via local promoters, Arena Club's Nicole Kaestner confirmed to Resident Advisor that the Arena Berlin-adjacent space will be shutting down "in its current form from the end of April." The reason for the decision was "due to conceptual changes and new upcoming theater productions" at Arena Berlin's historic Glashaus. The club will undergo renovations to be "made fancy," Arena marketing manager Julian Kraske told Telekom Electronic Beats. Then, the venue "will be available as an event location for corporate events," Kaestner said. Arena Club is located in an old bus depot that was converted in the '90s to become a multi-purpose cultural space. Its last publicly listed event takes place on April 20th. Last month, Berlin club Farbfernseher also announced it will be closing this spring.
